Richard A. DeSenna

August 27, 1928 - March 24, 2021

Richard DeSenna, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Dick was born on August 27, l928 in Sussex, New Jersey to the late Dora (Sturdevant) and Abel DeSenna. He was married to Miriam Patricia Walker for nearly 50 years and to Joyce Moore for the past 20 years. Dick spent his early years living in Sussex on his grandparents dairy farm. He went on to travel the world. First, in the US Army and later as a successful business executive for Miles Laboratories and Bayer. After retiring, Dick lived in New Jersey, Georgia and more recently in Indiana. Always the worker, he was actively involved in several successful business ventures in his retirement. He was an expert marksmen and enjoyed being a member of the Ridgewood Pistol Club. He thoroughly enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and woodworking and spending time with his labrador retrievers. Besides his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Miriam Patricia Walker, and his brother, James Robert DeSenna. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his daughters, Patricia Bialek (Jim) of San Diego, CA and Donna (Paul Reid) Walker of Atlanta, GA; his granddaughter, Katelyn (Evan) White, Megan Walker, Lisa (Scott) Owen and Traci (Mike) Sutter; and great-grandchildren, Dallas and Lee, Scotty and Campbell, and Charlie and Will. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Jennifer Foy and step-grandchildren, Nick, Tyler and Allison. Visitation will be from 11 am-12pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex, NJ 07461 where funeral services will be held at 12pm. Burial will follow at the Beemerville Cemetery in Wantage, NJ.
