James R. Morse Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James R. Morse, Sr., age 77, passed into heaven on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Destin, FL. Born in Plainfield, NJ, he was raised in Piscataway and graduated from Piscataway High School in 1963. Jim’s first job was working for his father’s business, Morse Oil Burning Service. He proceeded to work for Great Eastern Mills, Union Carbide, and finally Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation in Raritan, NJ, where he was a Packaging Line Mechanic and Line Specialist. Upon retiring from Ortho in 2001 after 30 years of service, Jim and Virginia, his loving wife of 39 years, became full-time RVers. They were “Snowbirds” who spent their summers in Sussex, NJ, and their winters in Destin, FL. Jim is predeceased by his wife, Virginia M. Morse; mother, Marie C. Morse; father, Selby H. Morse, Sr.; and sister, Peggy Ann Morse Panzino. He is survived by his son, James R. Morse, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Knoxville, TN; his daughter, Noreen Q. DeRocha and her husband, Christopher, and his grandchildren, Christine and Christian DeRocha of Destin, FL; and his brother, Selby H. Morse, Jr. of Crestview, FL. A service will be held at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex, NJ, on Friday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m.. Friends may pay their respects to the family prior to the service from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sat., March 19, at Restland Memorial Park in E. Hanover, NJ. Donations can be made to Jim’s favorite organizations: Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warriors, or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
