Pedro Rosa

Sussex - Pedro Rosa, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Pedro was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, to the late Pedro Rosa Sr. and Sara (Lorenzo) Rosa. He later made his home in Manhattan, where he lived for many years, before recently moving to Sussex to be with his daughter and her family. Pedro was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in his work. He owned and operated his own contracting business, where he was known for his ability to fix just about anything. Over the years, he cared for and maintained many apartment buildings in Manhattan, forming lasting connections with the people and communities he served. His work was a reflection of his dependability, determination, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Pedro found joy in the simple things in life. He was a devoted Mets fan and enjoyed playing paddleball. But above all, family was the most important part of Pedro’s life. He had a big heart and was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. Pedro also had a wonderful sense of humor and was well known for his cheesy jokes, always finding a way to make those around him smile or laugh. His kindness, humor, and generous spirit made him someone people were grateful to know. Though his time in Sussex was brief, being with his daughter and her family gave Pedro the comfort and happiness of being close to those who meant the most to him. Pedro will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter he inspired, the work he was so proud of, and, most of all, in the hearts of the family he loved so dearly. Pedro is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Wilma (Rivera); his loving his children, Guendalina Hermosilla and her husband Marcelo of Sussex and Peter M. Rosa and Javier Rosa both of New York, New York; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Javier, Amy, and Kaitlyn; and his precious great grandchildren, Javier and Adonis. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.
