Giuseppe Ciaccio

Giuseppe Ciaccio, 84, of Wantage, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026. Born in 1942 in Caccamo, Sicily, Giuseppe was raised in the Sicilian countryside, where he began helping his family with farming and gardening at a very young age. Although his formal education ended after the third grade, he possessed a remarkable work ethic, practical wisdom, and determination that would guide him throughout his life. In 1967, Giuseppe emigrated to the United States with his new wife, Josephine, to build a better future for their family. Starting over in a new country without fully knowing the language, he worked a variety of jobs, saving diligently until he and his brother, George, purchased an auto body shop in 1975. Through hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice, he provided a loving home and countless opportunities for his family. Giuseppe will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his generous heart, and his deep devotion to his family. Outside of work, he found great joy in gardening, hunting, entertaining family and friends, playing cards, and making and sharing his homemade wine. Whether tending his garden, welcoming loved ones into his home, or enjoying laughter around the table, Giuseppe made everyone feel like family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Josephine; his daughter, Cecilia, and her husband, Steve; his son, Giovanni; his cherished grandsons, Colin and Christian; his brothers, George and Philip; his sisters, Concetta, Pina and Maria; many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his loyal companion, Chico, who brought him great comfort and joy. Giuseppe's legacy lives on through the values he instilled in those who knew and loved him: hard work, kindness, generosity, and an enduring love of family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 at St. Monica R.C. Church, 33 Unionville Avenue, Sussex with entombment to immediately follow at Holy Rood Cemetery,91 Maple Avenue, Morristown.
